Misdiagnosis of epithelioid trophoblastic tumors: a case report and literature review

Background: The most common clinical types of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia are invasive hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma, which can be diagnosed without pathology, cured by chemotherapy. Epithelial tumor, a rare type neoplasia, does not exhibit precise manifestations upon auxiliary examinations. Therefore, since epithelial tumors prone to misdiagnoses missed diagnoses, their diagnosis have confirmed through pathology immunohistochemistry. Case: We describe case 37-year-old woman that had been misdiagnosed at local hospital after she presented with irregular vaginal bleeding elevated human chorionic gonadotropin. initial was ectopic pregnancy subjected left salpingectomy, however, treatment, there no significant drop in Later, treated multiple chemotherapy hysterectomy.
